Habemus Papam! We have a Pope! Pope Francis I, the gentle cardinal from Argentina is our new Papa. Totally not on the radar and totally humble. What a thrilling moment for the world.
A simple man, he took Francis as his name, doing something almost unheard of...taking a name no one had taken before. So much humility in our new Holy Father, Pope Francis , who brought the world to silence and prayer (for our beloved Benedict, Pope Emeritus and for himself) in the first five minutes of his pontificate. Love this man already! Habemus Papam!
Today is a glorious day. Let's take today to pray for our new Holy Father, the man who appointed by the Cardinals and the Holy Spirit himself will lead us into the future.
We will go back to our daily reflections on Friday, but today we celebrate!
